Rapidly Growing Out of Old Design
As a rapidly growing engineering firm, MGE saw an increasing need for a centralized home for collaboration a and single-source for essential documentation. Previous means of collaboration lead to silos and bottlenecks between multi-state offices and organizational departments.
With an increasing number of employees. MGE also needed help to streamline time-consuming tasks such as New Employee Onboarding, Scheduling & Events, and housing of employee information.
Development with Modern Tools
Through the use of several modern development Microsoft tools, Capitol Presence was able to overhaul MGE's employee experience.
The CPTL team worked to re-architecture MGE's Microsoft SharePoint environment, to make better use of Microsoft SharePoint Communication Sites, Team Sites, and Hub Sites in a complete Microsoft SharePoint redesign. This redesign and re-engineering included implementation of applications such as Microsoft Forms, PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Bi, Microsoft Lists, and Microsoft Teams.
SharePoint sites were created to better reflect currently established Microsoft Teams.
Powerful and customized canvas applications were created to streamline outage and PTO requests and the approval process, and to house employee analytics and serve as a directory for employees. Power Automate workflows work on the back end to connect and integrate data from multiple applications including Microsoft Forms and Outlook.
Efficient Processes and Optimized Results.
MGE has since expanded offices to Philadelphia and Florida, while seamlessly expanding their intranet and knowledge base. New sites continue to be added and customized to reflect team manuals, and serve as a one-stop shop for all of the necessary tools, information, and FAQs. CPTL implemented automation solutions using the Power Platform, which has reduced manual efforts and improved data accuracy, and is able to grow and change with an expanding employee and customer base.
